Editorial policy
Modern Running Journal aims to make its explanations clear, fair and useful. We distinguish fact from interpretation and take responsibility for correcting the record when we get something wrong.
Accuracy and care
We check factual claims against suitable information available to us and avoid presenting guesswork as fact. We keep articles within their proper scope: they are for general reading, not a substitute for professional advice or local guidance. If a topic is uncertain, varies by place or needs more context, we say so rather than implying a universal answer.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for readers, not to secure favourable treatment for a product, organisation or partner. A partnership does not guarantee coverage or a positive view, and commercial arrangements do not determine our conclusions.
Corrections
If you spot an error or an unclear passage, send the details through the Contact page. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers where appropriate. A correction is not a promise to adopt every suggested change.
Partnerships and illustrations
Paid, sponsored or otherwise partner-supported material is identified clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. We may use AI-generated illustrations; when an illustration is AI-generated, we identify it as such. Images are not presented as documentary evidence of a real running event or place unless that is what they are.
A run is more than a line on a map.
We look at the routes, places and shared habits that give running its character, whether you are heading out alone or meeting others along the way.
